Cut off the dry part of the asparagus. Peel the asparagus with a peeler. Place the asparagus upwards in the basket, and put the basket in boiling, lightly salted, water. Leave the asparagus buds out of water.
Cooking time depends on the thickness and the picking time of the asparagus. The usual cooking time for green asparagus is 3-8 minutes and for white 10-15 minutes.
When ready, remove the basket and drain the asparagus. Serve right away!
