The highlight of my mornings – a cup of flavorful coffee made with a Moka pot!
The original aluminum Moka pot by Bialetti is one of the best-known coffee equipment in the world. With a Moka pot, you will prepare a strong and full-bodied Italian mocha, rich in flavor and aroma, which also works as the base for your coffee if you enjoy your coffee with milk!
Aluminum Moka pots come in a variety of sizes, so select your pot based on how many coffee drinkers there are. One cup represents one espresso shot of coffee, which is about 0,5 dl. Aluminum Moka pots can generally be used on all stovetops except for induction, but our selection includes an induction plate for aluminum Moka pots, which makes your pot suitable on all stovetops! We also carry a range of beautiful stainless steel espresso pans from Bialetti, which allow you to prepare a cup of espresso on an induction stovetop without the induction plate.
Making coffee with a traditional Moka pot is as easy as ABC! Check out the instructions and video down below!
Moka pot instructions
Fill the bottom portion of the pot with water, all the way up to the valve located on the side. Place the funnel in its place and fill it evenly with ground espresso coffee. Do not pack the coffee too tight, as the coffee rises into the pot portion due to pressure, and won’t be able to do so if the coffee is packed too tightly. Place the pot on the stovetop and turn on the power. When the water starts boiling and coffee starts to rise into the top portion, you may lower the power a bit. When the coffee has risen to the top, remove the pot from the stovetop, and you’re done! Pour yourself a cup of coffee and leave the pot to cool off. After you’ve enjoyed a perfect cup of proper coffee, rinse all the parts of the pot with warm water, no soap, and leave the separated parts to dry.
Tips for success:
- Fill the boiler with water all the way up to the valve.
- The ground coffee should not be pressed, but evenly distributed in the filter.
- Make sure you have the pieces properly screwed together. Do not hold the handle when twisting.
- Wash the pot after it has cooled down.
- Wash the pot after each use and only using water. Do not use soap. Dry properly. To avoid damaging the pot, do not assemble the pot if the parts are still wet.
- Do not leave the pot unwashed for too long. The pot might be difficult to open if left unattended for a long period of time after using it.
- The handle on the pot is not meant to be used to twist the pot open. The handle may break if twisted too hard. Open the Moka pot by holding on to the water tank and pot portions and twist to open.
- Replace the filter regularly for the best result. An old filter will become brittle and hard over time.
Psst. For safety measures and to avoid overheating, the induction Moka pots will always leave a little bit of the water in the water tank.
Enjoy a perfect cup of coffee!
