I absolutely LOVE cold brew! It’s so refreshing on hot summer mornings and you don’t always feel like drinking hot coffee.
Cold water extracts the coffee very differently from hot water – cold brew doesn’t have any of those bitter notes, only the darker chocolaty tones (which are the ones I look for in coffee). You can prepare the cold brew coffee the evening before and then have a ready coffee pot in the morning.
Cold brew coffee needs a bit more coffee than brewing with hot water. I use a ratio of 70g coffee to 1000g water. The Bialetti 8 cup French press takes 63g coffee and 900g water. Stir the ground coffee and cold water in a french press in the evening, put it in a fridge overnight and then enjoy in the morning <3
